So, you have your intervals
The intersection of the left hand side with the union of the right hand side will produce your answer
I think I'm doing a silly mistake here... cuz the answer is
(-infinity, -1) U [0, infinity)
can u pls correct me
Kocher
You forgot to flip it
hey but why's thus (-1, infinity) still here
*this
what to do with it... and you see that function isn't even defined for values greater than -1 and less than 0... so why am I even getting this interval
It should not, I don't see where x>-1 occured
eh? like for the right hand inequalities
solving for Nr and Dr both being negative we get
x>0
x > -1
if Dr is negative
7^-x - 7 < 0
7^-x < 7¹
-x < 1
x > -1
wait.. that 7^-x is a decreasing function? so where should I flip the inequality..
in the 2nd last step?
instead of -x < 1 should it be
-x > 1 since its a decreasing function
^
goodness am I even making sense I don't even know what I'm saying
There we go
If you're tired, that's alright
yeah that's for positive what about negative
does that mean I'm correct
is this part correct?
Yes
thank you man I couldn't think straight after I don't know I lost count of how many hours I'm studying I was so confused about this.. thanks for helping
