First when A hits the ground, calculate speed of the B block. After A hits the ground, B moves upward freely till its final v is 0

Calculate the dist of this motion and add it to the 2m that the B block moved when A came at rest

What you did is you took the initial vel 0 for B

when A hits the ground, it travels 2m. A should also travel 2m. and you know acceleration of B by fbd of block. now use 3rd eqn of motion
