Hey guys, need help with something
My project supervisor at uni asked me to do a project about some of the mathematics behind Deepseek
I have no idea wtf I can do this on, but more than anything I want to do it on something that grants me access to some level of understanding in terms of being able to utilize what I learn in projects of my own
This is a 5-6 week project course that I am taking over the summer and desparately need help
I tried asking chatGPT and DeepSeek and they both are contradicting each other
then I tried reading literature and it is too much CS jargon for me
so need help here

- Do not ping the Moderators, unless someone is breaking the rules.
- Do not ping the Helper Moderators, unless there is a conflict between helpers.
- Do not ping other members randomly for help.
- Ask your question and show the work you've done so far. If you've posted a screenshot of a question, specify which part you need help with.
- Wait patiently for a helper to come along.
- If the Helper has answered your question, remember to thank them with the Mathematics Ranks bot and close the thread with:

Feel free to nominate the person for helper of the week in #helper-nominations
If you're happy with the help you got here, and the server overall, you can contribute financially as well:
maybe try reading the papers published by deepseek
@undone drift would be able to help better I believe
Imho just read the paper and watch videos about it
videos are the most digestible format to understand the math behind deepseek
but it's mainly just raw reinforcement learning
Also, reinforcement learning is not CS jargon
I can assure you that it is raw applied mathematics
not talking about reinforcement learning in particular, was referring to things like "terminating rewriting system" etc
does not feel like mathematics at the very leasy

Ah then yeah I think that's normal
I mean there are obviously things that are more tailored towards software engineering
But they aren't exactly related to math
This is one bad thing about AI papers, there is no standardized vocabulary
the problem is that I dont know why but i cannot find appropriate definitions or anything, absolutely no precise explanation for what half the shit is
