(3x+1)(x+2)
howdu get that
1 second.
thankss π
okay ty
Give me a second.
okie

**When helping people, please do not dump the full solution. **
Remember that these people are trying to learn concepts, and our goal should be to reinforce them. Giving them a solution will not help.
**Instead, give them hints and guide them toward the correct solution. **
You can ask things like "what part did you get stuck on?" or "what have you tried so far?" or give them a small starting hint. This ensures better learning. For more tips, reach out to Schlaumau (@schlaumau).
(sorry!)
It's also not very helpful when you clearly cannot recall.
There are several ways. One of them is to split the 7x term.
some1 said u don't need 7x cause we dk what x is
so like
Hm?
7x/2 or like 7 times x ?
No, I'll explain.
There's a really nice trick here.
Do you know how to factor expressions in the form x^2+ax+b?
No.
Okay, well, I'll teach you the method for x^2+ax+b first, then for ax^2+bx+c.
Are you alright with that?
no sorry
I don't get that
what ax means
a is a constant, as well as b and c.
It is just a generalized form of the types of quadratics.
So for example, x^2+5x+6 is classified under x^2+ax+b.
Since it doesn't have a term with leading coefficient that isn't 1.
canu just go thru this pls
oh ya
Okay, but:
- Someone already gave the answer, so its pointless.
- I can clearly tell you don't understand how to do this, so I feel it's better off me teaching you in general.
Does that make more sense?
The difference between x^2+ax+b and ax^2+bx+c is the leading term.
The former has leading coefficient 1; the latter can have any leading coefficient.
I don't get any of that
Do you know what a leading coefficient is?
nop
Do you know what a coefficient is?
Okay.
Well, the coefficient is the number next to a given variable.
Huh?
n the brackets multiply each other
dude idkππ
Yeah, that's a start.
Okay, and from there?
u get the answer ?
That's the reason why I'm trying to teach you.
I get it now dw
thanks so much
so basically
3x is alr there
so u need it to be ^2
so u put 1x cause x times x make x^2
then the +2 is fine
so u put a 1
but then like, what bout 7x ?
Good.
That happens from factorization.
I'll show.
oki

no sorry
The FOIL method of distribution.
okokokokok
Would not say that.
Why?
What?
No...?
Do you know your exponent laws?
I got it now ty
@modest perch still need help
what is the equation of the line
@modest perch
