i dont understand why my teacher said x = -2 was neither. should it not be a minimum becaue it changes side?

by definition, a function only has a maximum at x=m if f(m) is defined and greater than or equal to nearby values, and vice versa for minimum. Because there is a hole at this point, we can say that there is neither a maximum or minimum.
