You need to get everything related to x on the same side of the equation
Do you know of to factor out the x?
no
So initially we have x=1.8x+32
Before we start to solve this let's look at smaller problems relevant to the current problem
@blissful skiff
Our first small problem:
Solve 2x=6
Can you solve this?
yeah just divide both sides by 2 thats x =3
Mhm
now let's say we have the equation
x=8-3x
Can you transform the equation into this form
Where we have a X term on on side
And a number on the other
Yea
Now do the same for x=1.8x+32
@blissful skiff
im confused whast the first step
Can you tell us how you are confused?
What @spring stream is attempting to point out is a parallel between solving x = 8 - 3x and solving x = 1.8x + 32.
The fact that one of the equations features a decimal does not actually matter outside that you need to be prepared to perform some decimal arithmetic.
so i subtract 32 from both sides???
Alright
Explain how you solved
x=8-3x
Step by step
ok first i swap the equation around so 8-3x = x
and then i add 3x to both sides so 8 = 4x
then i divide both sides by 4 so x = 2
so now we have x=1.8x+32
Can we subtract anything from both sides
To get something similar to this
1.8x??????
Ye
So what do you get after that
You are free to do that, but then you need to evaluate whether that step was useful. Subtracting 32 gets you $x - 32 = 1.8x$.

wait remove x from both sides??
so 32=0.8x
then divide both sides by 0.8 so 40=x
x= 40
Almost
0.8x=-32
x=-40
I'll assume that was a typo
So yea we're done
