in fact we can readily visualise transformations of the form x → ax+b
x → x+b means shifting things right by "b"
x → ax means stretching it out by a factor of "a"
plug in something like x=3 to see the relation
Correct! So think about how dividing x/3 would transform the graph of g(x). You can also sub it any graph you'd like for g(x), and graph the two equations, if you'd like that visual.
