What step are you stuck on?
i cant get to the 0 stairs
one row always get like 1 or minus 1 one in the begining
Divide R #1 by −1 to make the pivot in the first column 1
youd get
[1 0 -1 -2 | -2
0 1 0 0 | 0
1 0 2 1 | 1]
yup i got to that stage and the next one is where i am struggling
Then, we eliminate the first column in R #3
Turn R #3 to R #3 − R #1.
This is the new R #3: (1,0,2,1,∣,1)−(1,0,−1,−2,∣,−2)=(0,0,3,3,∣,3).
i feel like this is hard to understand
updated matrix
What do you think the next step should be?
@sonic pebble
let me write and think for a few minutes to make sure i am following here my brain is sloooow but appriciate this a ton
so our plan @grim fractal is to change the rows so row 2 becomes 1 and row 1 becomes 3. then i am wondering if we can multiply row 3 by row 1.....
no you cant
multiply row 3 by row 1
Ahh ok can I multiply row 3 with 0
no
Hmmm
ok
rewind to here
read all the msgs after that
the step after this is to normalize r #3
Divide row 3 by 3 to make the pivot in the third column equal to 1
it makes 1/3 r #3
did you switch row 3 and 1?
yes
so
New Row 3 is (0,0,1,1,∣,1).
now eliminate the third column in row 1
To eliminate the 2 in the third column of R #1, subtract 2R #3 from R #1
ohhhh so the first collum in row one can stay 1 it doesnt need to be 0?
i think i maybe slightly understood it a bit so i am gonna start over to remove all the possible confusision
i will let you know if its going bad again
yes
ok
I like using pen and paper
same i am writing it down
np
where is the thank thing hahah a
