Why do you think the light becomes parallel again after passing through L 2?

so for statement 1, From your ray diagram, the rays converge to a point after passing through L 1 which must correspond to L 1's focal point. After L2, the rays become parallel again, ishowing that L2 is placed such that its focal point coincides with the point where the rays from L 1converge.
