  1. Ask your question and show the work you've done so far. If you've posted a screenshot of a question, specify which part you need help with.
  2. Wait patiently for a helper to come along.
  3. Once someone helps you, say thank you and close the thread with:
    +close

  4. Feel free to nominate the person for helper of the week in #helper-nominations
  5. Do not ping the mods, unless someone is breaking the rules. If there is a conflict amongst multiple helpers feel free to ping “Helper Mod”
  6. If you're happy with the help you got here, and the server overall, you can contribute financially as well:

looks like an induction proof

plzzz help brooo

n=1 is true, yes?

solar hawk
#

yes

#

then?

proper gorge
#

do induction

#

assume is true for n and show that is also true for n+1

#

show is true for n=2 for example

#

that will give you an idea how to prove general case

$z=\norm{z}\cdot\text{Cis}\qty(\arctan\qty(\frac{\Im(z)}{\Re(z)}))$

what is e^(ix)?

proper gorge
#

im not entirely sure of that

#

$$ z= |z| \mathrm{cis}(\arg z) $$

#

this would be correct

# cobalt swift **Cofailure**

if the ratio is negative you get something in (-pi/2, 0) after taking arctan, so effectively you would be putting all those complex numbers in the 4th quadrant

#

but that's only true in the event that im z < 0 and re z > 0
