vivid patrol
#

Although i’m not too good at it 😅

#

no

bold salmon
#

wait what is HMMT? some entrance exam?

vivid patrol
#

no, it’s the harvard-MIT math competition

#

one of the most prestigious in the US

bold salmon
#

woah wait what

vivid patrol
#

yes

#

i think @runic depot would be more suited to solve this problem

#

i’m a bit rusty with this competition

bold salmon
#

alright

#

i didnt think it would be hard apparently it came in a 10th grade olympiad a year ago

vivid patrol
#

I would argue it is harder than the AMC 10A/B

runic depot
#

this is a yucky problem

#

split into nicer shapes

#

then calculate side lengths for them all

#

length is easy because it is hypotenuse of triangle

#

width is not bad because it is the height of the same triangle

#

if you don’t calculate that the four rectangles have the same area, you did something wrong
