- Ask your question and show the work you've done so far. If you've posted a screenshot of a question, specify which part you need help with.
- Wait patiently for a helper to come along.
- Once someone helps you, say thank you and close the thread with:
+close - Feel free to nominate the person for helper of the week in #helper-nominations
- Do not ping the mods, unless someone is breaking the rules. If there is a conflict amongst multiple helpers feel free to ping “Helper Mod”
- If you're happy with the help you got here, and the server overall, you can contribute financially as well:
for part a (on the second picture) there are 10C1=8 ways to make the first letter. Thus the probability of getting that letter is 3/10. To get the last letter, there are also 10 permutations, thus the probability is 2/10. Can you solve the rest?
do you have any progress for the first question (coffee)?
ok
how did you get those numbers?
wouldn’t you want to account for repetition?
hm
well, there’s likely an easier way to solve this
What repetition?
there’s three Ts in statistics
Oh, I see.
i suppose, if you consistently count them as different, it should cancel out when applying the probability
i think so, yes
not for the second picture
divide by 2 to account for the two Ss
it is just finding the probability
