why is it a negative and not a positive 24/25?

2theta is between 3pi and 4pi, which is co-terminal with pi and 2pi. Sine is negative in those quadrants

equivalently sin(theta) is negative in Q4, and cos is positive in Q4, hence 2sin(t)cos(t) is negative
