What I can recall from my memory, divided differences first has a dataset of (planar) points, then we form the set of the "divided" differences

Hmm, I knew that by using divided differences we can find the coeficient of x^n of the Lagrangean function that interpolates the function f in the points x0, x1, .., xn, y0, y1, .., yn.
But I think I've found the reason why it didn't make sense in the problem.
