What are "transition points" here? I don't think I've heard this term in this context.
They are maxima/minima and inflection points I think

While the x-coordinates are correct, it isn't possible that y-coordinates aren't just opposite, as this function is odd.
This is correct.
So, now find the zeroes, then you can sketch the graph.
