yuck geometry sucks
if I knew this I would help u but I'm learning the same thing rn
ts hard asf bro
Use the fact that ABE is isoceles
Then prove that BEDC is a cyclic quadrilateral (one pair of opposite angles add up to 180)
Then some elementary circle theorems to show that angle EBD = ECD
angle EBD = ECD
as well as angle CED = BDC
well this is actually rlly confusing
but it doesnt mention tho....
@amber jewel can you send a full photo? i think you mightve sent just a snippet of the text
normally i think this is imposible unles EAB is a. right angle or isoceles
@cedar lagoon is there something im missing out on?
pls help
Sorry, geometry is a bit too hard for me in this temperature.
thats ok
im as confused as when my teacher calls 10* an obtuse angle o-o
If it helps, I can try making a more accurate picture in Kompas.
Maybe that'll help.
Not sure if I can, though.
i think the problem is that it doesnt hace enough data
about any of the shapes
Yeah, that might also be the case.
I think you might be right that Wizard hasn't sent the full picture.
Actually it does lmfao
It has enough info
The answer is 66 lmfao
BEDC is a cyclic quad
How do you know?
So just draw a circle that goes through the points B E D C
and then from the circle theorems
EBD = ECD
as they are both angles formed on the edge of the circle and with the same chord (i need a picture for a proper explanation uhh)
Yeah somehow I saw it
I usually die when I see geom lmfao
Then i pull out desmos
Yeah?
As usual, I tried to generalize this with arbitrary angles, but that doesn't work here.
If the angles are arbitrary, then this is impossible.
Hahahaha
The point here is that there is actually a degree of freedom, I believe, but it won't matter.
i literally thought that cuz it looked like a bowtie from one of the cticle yheotems
Bowtie?
Oh, a self-intersecting quadrilateral, alright.
I don't think I've ever looked at it that way, to be honest. I just see two angles.
my goofy ass thought that it was easier to remember lmfao
DESMOS FOR THE W🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
best free graphing calc
Well, I like Geogebra more, but that's not what I'm asking.
Ohhhhhh
to be fair desmos was the first graphing calculator i used and was reccomended by my teacher
and its really accessible in my opinion
Again, not what I'm asking.
?
I'm asking why you would use a graphing calculator instead of CAD software.
This is a geometry problem, after all, not an algebra one.
isnt cad software also used for 3d printing
or am i thinking something else
true, however desmos also has a geometry function
Oh, that.
im so dumb i shouldve put the shape in desmos instead of assuming 😭😭😭
Well, so does Geogebra, but I prefer using CAD software for stuff like this. It's more precise.
i havent used any other software, do you need to have a subscription?
and how does it work?
Id love to try it out
Kompas's full version is paid, but there's also a free version with somewhat less functionality. I believe it's only in Russian, though.
rip i barely understand russian
Well, there's probably other software available.
true
WOAH THIS IS SO COOL
What is?
Oh, ok.
Well, I just dislike that Desmos has mostly always existed without an app.
I believe there is one now, but without 3D graphs.
Because i’ve never used geogebra
true frrr
And well it takes more time on desmos buttt
Worth it for the free algebra practice
To be fair tho youd probably be using your computer/pc for these sort of things
and its compatible with tablets as well
Again, look above to see that it's not what I meant.
OHHHHHHHHH
Anways, if you want to discuss this further, let's move to #geonosidan-prison-complex .
