Im confused how R(-a,a) is the final answer to this question for the locus of R. How can the intersection of the two tangents as P and Q vary along the curve remain constant?

Or am I just misunderstanding what the locus of R is

I think the question is just worded incorrectly maybe ( as thats the Coordinates of R specifically when the gradient of PQ is 2 from my understanding) and so the locus of r is actually the answer to part b)
