I just started to learn calculus a few days ago and I'm not sure I really understand what I'm learning.. I can barely solve/prove anything alone.. is it normal? How long does it take to fully understand it? Does anyone have any tips for me? Things I should go over multiple times and pay attention to? Any good exercises for someone who doesn't really understand it yet?

EDIT
I just found out that in the US what I'm learning is called real analysis and not calculus

  1. Ask your question and show the work you've done so far. If you've posted a screenshot of a question, specify which part you need help with.
  2. Wait patiently for a helper to come along.
  3. Once someone helps you, say thank you and close the thread with:
    +close

  4. Feel free to nominate the person for helper of the week in #helper-nominations
  5. Do not ping the mods, unless someone is breaking the rules.
  6. If you're happy with the help you got here, and the server overall, you can contribute financially as well:

And it’s fine that you can’t rn

Just practice, practice, practice

I guess it's part of it but I didn't get to it yet😅
I saw a few things I need to be able to prove like Lagrange theorem and rolle theorem which I guess is pretty basic.. I learned what you call calculus in school obviously but in what I'm learning right now I didn't get to all the functions yet (integration/derivative etc)

yeah it's very normal to be absolutely dumb founded when it's your first time doing proof based mathematics

#

For me it took about 2-3 months before I understood even the bare minimum, I'd say give it some time.

#

Go for easier books like elias zakon instead of any random book you find online

#

talk to people about what you learnt! it solidifies your understanding
