Shouldn’t the answer be:
= (12x15)/12
= 180/12
=15
Why is it 5/12?

Even if you use the formula or Venn diagram wouldn’t it be the same answer?

feral kernel
#

But the probability P(CnP)=5/30, and P(P) = (7+5)/30

#

to which 5/12 follows

crimson merlin
#

why is CnP divide?

feral kernel
#

it's a probabilty

crimson merlin
#

isnt it supposed to be multiply

feral kernel
#

probability, at least in this instance,' is (desired outcomes)/(total outcomes)

#

there are 5 desired outcomes, out of a total 30 outcomes

#

hence 5/30

crimson merlin
#

ohh okay

#

also

#

do you know how tree diagrams work

#

like is it just all the outcomes

feral kernel
#

yes

crimson merlin
#

from outcome

#

s

feral kernel
#

it's just a visualizations of all the outcomes

crimson merlin
#

and u put it into a fraction right

#

i just dont get this bit in thequestion

#

why divide the outcomes

feral kernel
#

for the reason I just explained

crimson merlin
#

also the question doesnt make sense

crimson merlin
#

which is the desired

#

6/27??

feral kernel
#

well, for P(2 letters the same)

#

there are 6 desired outcomes

#

they're listed on the far left

#

6/27 is P(2 letters the same)

crimson merlin
#

ohh okay

#

thank you 🙏
