Then the x-component of the vector sum is the sum of x-components of both vectors
Similarly for y-components
Better state which is on which axis
+5 is on x +4 is on y

We usually draw like this
@warm bloom As you can see, the vector, vertical dotted line and the positive x-axis form a right-angled triangle
That should enable you to find the length (magnitude) of the vector
