  1. Ask your question and show the work you've done so far. If you've posted a screenshot of a question, specify which part you need help with.
  2. Wait patiently for a helper to come along.
  3. Once someone helps you, say thank you and close the thread with:
    +close

  4. Feel free to nominate the person for helper of the week in #helper-nominations
  5. Do not ping the mods, unless someone is breaking the rules.
  6. If you're happy with the help you got here, and the server overall, you can contribute financially as well:

since a + b + c = 0

we can say that

a^4 + b^4 + c^4 = 2[(ab)^2 + (bc)^2 + (ac)^2]

#

but i cant get any good form?

nd i have no idea how to proceed

# sinful skiff it does when a+b+c = 0

Then that's a step you need to make more explicit, because to me it looks like you just squared every individual term when that's not how squaring works in an equation.

Wait, no, I see what you did.

should here be a 2
print mistake maybe

since it will lead to symmetry?

I don't know how to solve the problem. Anything I do or suggest is just going to be playing around with the given equations same as you.

# sinful skiff oh ok thanks anyways tho

Like, let me be clear, I know "how to solve the problem" in the sense that I know the family of legal operations that must necessarily lead in some combination to the solution if such a solution exists, I just don't know which conbination to use them in and I'm not in a position to make the attempt right now.

My instinct is to clear the denominators in the second equation.
