- Wait patiently for a helper to come along.
- Once someone helps you, say thank you and close the thread with:
+close
- Feel free to nominate the person for helper of the week in #helper-nominations
- Do not ping the mods, unless someone is breaking the rules.
- If you're happy with the help you got here, and the server overall, you can contribute financially as well:
express y in terms of x in the first and second term
For instance y=3x+6 in the first one
So you’ll have the equation of two lines the solution here is then found at the intersection of both lines which you can find graphically
thank you
You’re welcome
or you can express 3x in terms of y from the first equation then substitute in the second equation
another workaround is to use elimination
Yes that’s a way but op said to solve it graphically
oh
Note that a line x/a + y/b = 1 has x-intercept a and y-intercept b.
Substitute values for any one variable with any number.
Find the value of the other and variable and you will get the coordinates where x is abscissa and y is the ordinate.
Find at lest two coordinates by substation and draw a line passing through the coordinates.
Mark the point of intersection and the coordinates of the point is your solution.
