the drop point 200 cm is not considered the first term because according to the question (if I'm not wrong), the progression should begin from the first bounce, not from the drop point of the ball
and like that it will keep on decreasing with each successive bounce

but isnt the first the number 200
200 * 0.08 = x
then
x * 0.08
so isnt 200 a part of the progression?
the only logical explaination im getting is that, in this arithmetic progression, an entire bounce of the ball from one point to the other would be considered as a term
but the drop point is not an entire bounce, it's more of a half bounce and so is not included in the progression

The total distance the ball have travelled u need to find from the start until the ball stops moving
doesnt htat mean it's finite
because it ends at zero
