How?
one tap fills up 1/a of the tank per hour, the other 1/b
How 1/a and 1/b? , that's my doubt .
two taps fill the tank in 9$\frac{3}{8}$ hours
tap a: fills it with $\frac{1}{a}$ per hour
tap b: fills it with $\frac{1}{b}$ per hour
In other words:
- Equation: 9$\frac{3}{8}$ * $\frac{1}{a}$ + 9$\frac{3}{8}$ * $\frac{1}{b}$ = 1
Since tap a is 10 hours faster than tap b - Equation: a = b - 10
muerte
You can simplify from there, no?
(sorry, I am not used to using latex)
Now just insert equation 2 into equation 1
and you can solve for b
\times is nice
oh okay
so if one takes like idk 5 hours to fill up the tank
