It's basically this.

1 < x read it as "1 is more than x".

Read B as "x is less or equal to 0" and so on.

Usually Compound inequalities are also like "2 < x" and "7 > x" and when they ask you this it means to combine the inequalities.

So since "x is more than 2" and "x is less than 7" we can write it as "2 < x < 7" or "x is more than 2 but less than 7".
