So I have a big exam tmrw and my teacher wants us to use completing the square method, I hate it but I'm trying.
I got the answer of x1 being = 1 + sqrt of 5 and x2 = 1 - sqrt of 5
am I right?

#

I was about to send a new photo

#

so first step was make it lc = 1

#

then I moved the constant after

#

shouldve done it before ik

#

then I added 1/2 b^2

#

and then after adding it I'm kind of lost with what to do from there but I think I did it right

everything is good except you messed up the sign here

ah

#

no wonder

thanks

#

everything else is fine tho

#

youre getting it

just like

It's funny but adding and subtracting fractions confuses me

#

and dividing sometimes

#

something I didn't learn early on

#

so the 1/2 b^2 part is what sometimes gets me off

#

then the steps after

hearty granite
#

you just like

#

x^2+bx+c=0

#

we want c to equal to (0.5b)^2

#

so we just add something or subtract something

#

and then we factor

#

if you think about $(x+a)^{2} = x^{2}+2ax+a^{2}$ the 1/2 part might make more sense
