- Wait patiently for a helper to come along.
- Once someone helps you, say thank you and close the thread with:

- Feel free to nominate the person for helper of the week in #helper-nominations
- Do not ping the mods, unless someone is breaking the rules.
- If you're happy with the help you got here, and the server overall, you can contribute financially as well:
- What’s the slope of the line y + 3x = 9 (hint: It’s not three)
- What is the derivative of x^2 - 4x + 7
Now note that derivative = slope of tangent line and two lines with same slope are parallel - What x value does that derivative from question 2 equal the slope from question 1
derivative as in dy/dx ?
Yea dy/dx
- -3
- 2x-4
- idk what u mean
ohhh wait
i think i get it
i used the x coordinate from part i which was 1/2 and then sub it into the 2x-4 which got me to -2 and thats my x coordinate
then sub in the -2 into the y=-3+9 to find my y coordinate
so my final answer is (-2,3)
No you want when the derivative (2x - 4) equals the slope (-3)
You’re plugging the 1/2 into the quadratic as point Q is on the quadratic curve
yeah
ok thanks
so would it be (1/2, 5 1/4)
🤔
