define "the square root equation"
an equation that contains a square root?
ok, which one?
there's infinitely many
and 'the' means you have a specific one in mind
ask an actual question then...
sqrt(x+2) or sqrt(x)+2?
but it's the same as solving any other equation like 7x+3=4, just that you have to square at some point or state there's no solution
such as with sqrt(x)=-1
well for one... what's the question?
from 7x+3 it becomes 4
your typing is ambiguous
cause... that's the equation I pulled from thin air as an example...
the equation is 7x+3=4
oh wait
the question is to solve it, ie find an x such that 7x+3=4
the math you're doing is the exact same
except you have to include steps of squaring both sides, or stating there isnt a solution
like if you get to sqrt(x)=-1, you conclude there's no solution
oh
since.. sqrt(x) >= 0 for all valid x.
just use properties of the sqrt to simplify
$\sqrt{ab}=\sqrt{a}\sqrt{b}$ for $a,b\geq 0$
Omegabet_
so it's clear, for example, that $\sqrt{50}=\sqrt{2\cdot 25}=\sqrt{2}\sqrt{25}=5\sqrt{2}$

im pretty confused
but one second
well you never specified a question, so I just picked a random radical from the page
oh
yeah
