definition of root you can plug it into the equation
and since thers two variables for one equation... many answers
though if p,q are assumed to be real, maybe only one
so yeah i guess plug in and grind out the expansion
is that "z⁴ = ..." or you've mistyped the equal sign it should be an operator?
