Notice that the center points of the circles form an equilateral triangle

And the lines connecting the center points cut out 1/6th of each circle

So just subtract half of a circle’s area from the area of that triangle

is it because the angle of the equilateral triangle is 60 degrees?

Yep, and we know it’s equaliateral bc the circles all have the same radius
