ah, nah, everything´s right.
@unkempt sky
Ohhh the mathworld article u mean
Ohh seems interesting
I would imagine one could tackle a lot of classical paper folding problems by rephrasing it with abstract algebra
@unkempt sky
i fould out, that lot´s of terms are useless
and threw them out
this works to explain this strang pictures in a context.
even though log (0) is a bit strange.
@pastel shell coffe, what is log (0) ?
log (0), , who needs such a thing ?
depends on the base
wolfram say - infinity
@pastel shell
but that´s hmmmm, x^-infinity
let´s say base 10
for base 10 it'd be
uhh rather very very small
if the base is lesser than 1 then it's rather large
this would produce this kind of transformation of the surface, strange onion.
@pastel shell
the more the value of n get´s away frióm -1 or 1 the less i have an idea of this thing
maybe i should investigate something else.
ehhh
haja, changing the base produces this.
@pastel shell
einfach zerknüllen.
horrible.
is this crumbled up pape
@unreal skiff, that´s just a sign form my resignation.
@pastel shell
how would such an object look like ?
this is nice
Well it's not defined strictly
the triskel in the ice cream is more or less the tan of this functions
Hmm reminds me of some kinda multifuctions
but it can´t have a third focal point
no third focal point
so i think it´s imposibble to "repair" the picture this way.
@unkempt sky what are this surfaces technically ?
circles in the 4th dimension ???
A sort of manifold technically
but for certain values there is this nice order and then there are values it´s hard to say what this object would be or how to imagine it.
Ahhhh c'est la vie baby
Lot of maths is hard to imagine
@unkempt sky why does rizzly hate loxodromic curves ? "loxodromes ared dead !" -rizzly 2023.
the idea of a sphere with three poles is not uninteressting.
how to put three logharythmic spirals on a sphere. with three poles.
that´s should be the triskel in the icecream.
i can understand the critique that this not the way to do it. of course the problem could be solved by cutting out a piece and then glue it in again.
but this approach wouldn´t be the best.
