Median and Quartiles.

Can someone show me why the median is not the middle score of the scores between the quartiles?

Because there aren't any scores "between" quartiles, right? Like, doesn't every score go into a quartile?

I don't think that's the case

I'm not sure

quartiles create different sets of data within the whole set

and the quartiles are averages of each set

and there are scores which lie outside the quartiles
