erlenmeyer flask
what about it?
made of glass
plastic might melt anyway
yeah, it's always better to spend that little bit of money to get a higher qaulity product
round bottom flasks are also very helpful.
Very important piece of lab equipment.
indeed
yes, they are
is an eleermenyer flask not a piece of labware
Very expensive, but extremely useful.
I dont have one of those, but i hope to get one soon
Oh, it is, I was just thinking on what to say.
ah
Well, it's really expensive ๐
You don't usually get one if you're working alone.
yes, it's a very common glassware
yeah, i have never seen one in person
I think I'm gonna get a distillation set soon
Oh, what are you going to use it for?
to produce essential oil
Never ask...
A woman her age
A man his height
Brabray what they're going to use a distillation set for
Ah, alright.
chemistry is a very expensive hobby
that's why math superior
Well, I have participated in the student conferences for three years: two on math, one on physical chemistry.
Does that count?
Oh, should I describe what they were?
yes, I am quite curious to hear
- Asymptotic expansion of integrals with Laplace's method.
- Application of Monte-Carlo method to calculating definite integrals.
- Quantum-chemical calculations of thermodynamic and kinetic parameters of 1,3-cyclopentadiene dimerisation.
wow, that's pretty amazing. how long did no.3 take you?
That was during the internship last semester.
I had to learn how to use the software first.
Now I can use it at a beginner-level, at least.
Currently I'm doing the same, but for trimerisation this time.
While there were 2 dimers, there are 14 trimers. So, there's a lot of work to do.
Right now the opmtimization of the transition state of TC3 (eleventh) is ongoing. Should be finished in the morning.
Well, there are a lot of good things about this type of work:
- Able to work in the summer.
- Able to work remotely.
- After starting a calculation, you can do anything else.
Chemistry.
yes, those are some nice perks haha
I think I want to double major in chem and physics
and go into material science
