#Relationship between csc, sin^-1, and sin^-1 (y) = x

I’m have trouble understanding the relationship between csc, sin^-1, and sin^-1 (y) = x. I don’t understand how sin^-1 switches the places of opp and hyp to give the reciprocal, and also switches the places of x and y to give the inverse. And how 1/ sin(y) would give us both the angle and the reciprocal.

Usually try and avoid using sin^-1 anywhere cuz of the ambiguity it brings instead arcsin for the inverse function and 1/sin(x) for when u wanna switch opp and hyp

What would the relationship between csc and sin^-1 (y)=x be though? You find both through sin^-1. That implies there’s some kind of relationship there

Cosec is the reciprocal of sin in the sense of it's hyp/opp instead

It had no relation to the inverse function arcsin (which gives takes in values of sin and gives you the angle corresponding to that)

It's bad notation nothing else so it's understandable ur confused they use the same notation for two very different things

Although I should mention if you do see sin^-1 or so in an exam it's safe to assume they mean arcsin
