i wrote the equation as (-1(1-(5)^8))/(1-5)
This is a geometric progression with b(1) = -1 and q = 5.

That's the easiest method.
Well, maybe, but if you have hundreds of terms, this will take a very long time. Better to use the formula for sum of geometric progression.
