the force downwards is the hypoteneuse which is calculated with opposite/sin(theta)
so why is it multiplied??
it's not just gravity and friction on the block, it's also the normal force
i'm not sure
the friction is not mg sin(theta) though
as theta increases the friction has to increase to infinity

it just increase from 0 to mg
mgsin(theta) is the force acting down the ramp
the mark scheme as useful as always just says "(F = ) 19gsin23° to give 72.8 (N)"

mass is 19 kilos, you want weight (19g) and then you want to adjust for the slope
hence 19gsin23
this doesn't explain why they're multiplying it like that though
