...wouldn't it just be (f(10) - f(6))/(10 - 6)?
I used to thought it that way, but from the previous questions I ever seen before I ever saw someone do it sth like that, so the correct one is still (f(10)-f(6))/(10-6) right?

okay, btw I remembered someone used integration for the numerator and divided by the range of x (delta x) in a similar problem previously to find rate of change, why is that?
...I really doubt the problem was as similar as you think it was.
