1 = (x^2 - 1)/(x^2 - 1)
You know, common denominator?
I know but ahhh
It's just so hard to see
I just don't know where x^2-(x^2-1)/x^2-1 comes from
...from... x^2/(x^2 - 1) - 1 = x^2/(x^2 - 1) - (x^2 - 1)/(x^2 - 1) = (x^2 - (x^2 - 1))/(x^2 - 1)
I will write it down and get back to you. Thank you for your help
OK I see it
But how am I meant to know that -1 = (x^2-1)/(x^2-1)??
...because... it's a thing... divided by itself... which is always 1...
(unless it's 0, but it's not because it's in the denominator of something else)
Ugh my maths has so many gaps
