i dont get it?? how did they convert it into fraction form? like 6 : y : z = 10 : 30 : 50 turned into 6/10 = y/30 = z/50?

because they are ratios

#

6:y is a ratio of 6 and y

#

and by defintion of ratios, they can also be written as 6/y

yes cause as they tell you: the ratio 6:y:z = 10:30:50
