I've had soo many issues with this course in MyLab Math. It is Trigstead College Algebra interactive update 1st edition, and its crap. This is just my most recent concern. When I look at alt sources for standard form, its in the already given form from this question, and they are asking to convert it into standard form by completing the square, which I think it so get it into vertex form.
#Is my course teaching the vertex form as the general form of a quadratic equation?

yes, completing the square puts it into vertex form
Thank you
the way this course is formatted and presented is making this class much more difficult than it should be. Thanks for clarifying the terminology that this course seems to teach incorrectly.
Yeah, it’s already in what 99% of people would call standard form
