why replace x with e?
You're finding f prime e
Honestly, that kinda tripped me up at first too
@snow ivy Does that make sense?
that means derivative right?
lol
ok
dont use it then
just do x^2 or derivitave of
Yeah, I usually just say f prime e because that's one of the ways to say derivative of
It's kinda funny, there are like a dozen different ways to say derivative of
f'(x) means f prime x
ok
so your finding the derivative of e... What next?
If you plug it into this it should give the answer
Yep, and then change out the x for e
why?
Because it's asking for the derivative of f(e)
Hmm, that's weird, it should be (e^(e+h)-e^e)/h
yes thats it
so at the end of all definition of derivatives you plug x in for whatever youre solving?
Yep, and that will give you the derivative for when x equals that number
what if there is no x in the equation?
I'm sorry, I don't quite know what you mean by that
Oh, like if they don't give you f'(e)?
if you plugged it into the formula it was like e^4-4\h with no x you couldn't replace anything with x?
I don't think that'd be possible
ok
thanks
can i dm you for more questions?
I won't always be able to help, it'd probably be easier for you to ask questions in this server
ok
If you want to though, it's okay
But the other people in this server are far more knowledgable than me
Yeah, it was nice to meet you, I wish you the best of luck with your future studies!
