Understanding damage from shotgun bullets

@mellow cipher another topic, the shotgun blast damage.

if an opponent gets hit at point blank range by my shotgun blast (and gets hit by 5+ shotgun bullets) does that deal more damage? vs I hit my opponent and he's running away and only the edge of my shotgun blast hits him (he is hit by only 1 shotgun bullet)

then with Nico's focus shotgun. Does the 1 bullet from Nico's focus shotgun deal more damage than for example mid-charge (and 3 bullets come out) vs no charge (and 5+ bullets come out)?
