I logged in to play coral island (I started playing this Jan and have been playing every single day) and I am on Year 2 Summer almost towards the end. When I last saved I was on the day of the animal festival. When I logged in just now, my house was different and only had one floor (I had upgraded it to two storeys and was about to get married), all my relationships progress were down, quests and altars I had finished were incomplete, my extra shed and greenhouse were missing, sooooo many of my upgrades and machinery even my slime replicator was missing. Basically a lot of things I spent a lot of time on had disappeared. Then I looked at my farm and realized it’s all spring crops and that’s what made me look at the date and it’s SPRING 19. This is so frustrating cause I just lost process of not just one day but almost a whole season!!!! Anyone else faced this? Is there a way this can be fixed because I do not want to replay the entire season again and re do every single upgrade because there were soooooo many!!! I have honestly loved this game so much that I’ve stayed up several nights immersed into it but this just might make me stop playing the game once and for all. Devs please please help!

Thanks for your confirmation and we're truly sorry to hear that your progress has been reverted. Just to clarify, could you let us know the real-time date when you last played the game and the real-time date when the issue occurred? And do you happen to have the game synced to the PS5 cloud?
Yes, real time date I last saved when it was Summer in the game was 28th Jan Wednesday 5:30PM (GMT+5). This would have been the real save - the one I lost. When I last opened the game and saw this glitch was 29th Jan Thursday 6:00PM (GMT+5) I didn’t save or play after seeing this.
PS Cloud sync is also on.

Just to make sure: you were able to play normally up until the Animal Festival and exited the game/turned off your console without any crashes or freezes, but when you launched the game again later, the save had suddenly reverted, is that correct? Also, did you see any notification when opening the game, like a message saying the save file was corrupted or anything similar? 😮
Hi! Thanks so much for following up so promptly I really appreciate it. I had saved up till the day of the animal festival. I woke up on the animal festival day and didn’t play that day so the day before was my last save. I exited the game and turned off my console as usual. If it helps, all throughout fall and some days during winter as well in year 1, there were days when the game would freeze. Sometimes when I ask for a hug also the game freezes. I usually don’t mind and just close the game and reopen since it’s just one day. I’m looking for help this time since it’s a whole season lost. There were no notifications of any corrupt files or anything, however I did notice that on the day I found out about this problem, the game took longer to load than usual as the screen stayed on the black loading screen for a really long time. Again, thank you for the quick help as I am eager to still play but I’m only going to open the game once I get a confirmation if my actual save can be retrieved or not. Thank you

Just to clarify one part so we can better understand what happened: when you reopened the game on the day the save had reverted and noticed the unusually long black loading screen, did you wait to see if it would finish loading, or did you end up force-closing the game and reopening it? 😮
Also, you also mentioned earlier that you’d experienced freezes in the game before. Just to double-check, have you ever encountered a full crash as well, or was it limited to freezes only?

No I didn’t force quit the game I just let it load. Just noted that since it was unusually longer than before perhaps an extra two minutes or so.
Yes earlier I did experience three full crashes during Year 1 fall and it would automatically quit the game as well. I usually experience freezes now when it comes to hugging (possibly about 5 times now) and only one other time right after I left the Halloween festival and went home.
Please note I still haven’t opened the game since the originally reported save loss incident. Just waiting to see if there’s a fix and if not that’s okay I understand and will restart the season as it is.

Just to double-check one thing for us: between Spring 19 and Summer 12, were those days played in one continuous session (back-to-back in one real-time play session), or did you play, close the game, then come back later over multiple sessions and days (real-time) to complete that range?
Also, if you haven’t tried this yet, could you please try manually downloading your save file from the cloud on PS5?
You can do this by going to: Settings → Storage → Saved Data → Saved Data and Game/App Settings → Download or Delete from Cloud Storage → launch the game again.
After that, could you let us know what in-game date your save file shows now?

Hi, I played over multiple sessions in real time to complete the range.
I tried your tip of manually downloading the save file and the in game date still shows Spring 19.
I’m assuming the progress cannot be recovered. It’s okay and I will replay the whole season again. I hope this doesn’t happen again and just to bring to your notice, a lot of players did complain of game freezes and crashes recently on the Facebook coral island community as well. So this seems to be a bit of a recurring issue. Looking forward to an update where this bug is fixed.

We also really appreciate you taking the time to follow the steps to manually recover your save file from the Cloud. We’re truly sorry to hear that it’s still showing Spring 19. Unfortunately, as this was the final recovery step available, we regret to say that the progress can’t be recovered at this point. We apologize that we weren’t able to give you a clear confirmation earlier. The team is still investigating what caused this and why it happened, and we were genuinely hoping that the manual Cloud download would successfully restore your progress.
Regarding the crashes you mentioned, there have been a few reports from other players as well, mostly related to placing the Auto Trash in the ocean, and the team is actively working on this. We’ll also make sure to pass along your report about the freeze issue so it can be looked into further.
