In september we had a devblog that explained that they are splitting an update into two big updates, 1.2b and 1.3.
No dates were given, but they are actively working on them according to #📓coral-developer-diary . I wouldn't really expect a major update this year.

dont really wanna continue playing before update otherwise i have to create a new save to experience all of it and not getting bored off from it in the meantime :c

All we have is the roadmap, this time no dates were given. Considering how well some people have managed their expectations with 1.2 release and “summer” it’s one of the factors. With the primary one being imo they want to polish 1.2 and maybe have more time testing and developing 1.2b and 1.3.
But realistically don’t expect any major release this year

I think 1.2b will be released this year and 1.3 will be moved to the beginning of next year. It's a shame
According to the last update from 25 September, we're supposed to know about 1.2b "next month," meaning today or tomorrow. I hope it comes out and not just announced.

I really doubt it will come out, earliest I can see is late december. But I would love to see a public beta to test the update before it goes live, and it does take some time

but they working already on 1.3 features so 1.2b cant be that far away, or am i missunderstanding the diary?
