Hello! Ever since the update that adds multiplayer has come out on console anytime me and my friends try to play it just crashes the game, we have not been able to play multiplayer at all. We have uninstalled the game multiple times, tried work around a we saw but nothing works. We really want to play the game together but it just keeps crashing at the lobby screen for multi if it even gets that far! Is this a known issue? Will it be fixed soon? It’s been 2 months now and some of my friends are losing hope we will ever be able to play together 😞

Xbox series X all my friends are also on the same console save one who is on pc. The one on pc can join but no one on Xbox can join each other.

I have the same issue. I can never get multiplayer to work. Both my friend and I are on Xbox Series X.

same here me and my husband are on series s though but it keeps crashing before my husband can even load in

Been having the same issue. Can host the game fine, but trying to join another game immediately crashes. This is the case for all of my XBox friends.

Same. Have posted about it several times in the past, followed long threads of the same issue, and still no resolve.

I’m the PC player, hubs-sister-and brother in law are all Xbox and cannot join me if I host.

Hi everyone @spark vigil @round pecan @worthy plaza @raw oar , thanks for sharing some additional information. Have you tried to change your internet connection to see if the issue still persists? Also, could you let us know if the Host and Guest are playing using the same internet connection?

Me and my husband have checked the net and it still does we even restarted our Xbox to see if it helps and we both are on the same Internet

I have been unable to play multiplayer since it came out. have gone from wireless to wired and nothing. Both the host and i live in two different states so we are not using the same connection. I also believe with two different providers as well.

Honestly. At this point just tell us if Xbox to Xbox coop is even possible, we’ve been left in the dark about this for so long.

In addition, have you tried joining or hosting a session with someone on a different platform (like Steam or PS5) to see if the same issue occurs?

I am the steam player, my husband is the Xbox players. He is the one who gets dashboarded with no error message on his Xbox when he tries to join me, the Steam player. I can confirm that at the player select when he goes to create a player, it’s an automatic crash, 100% repeatable, same issue since multiplayer launched.

Yes, it works that way but I would prefer to host so I can play when he’s at work without having to turn on his console and put his person in bed and through menus daily

Thanks for your confirmation @wintry cargo @round pecan ! Have either of you tried to change the internet connection, such as using the mobile hotspot, to see if the issue persists afterwards?

I can confirm the Xbox still crashes when trying to join Steam host, even with the Xbox on hardwired local internet and the PC on cellular hotspot. Being on the same internet source does not seem to be the problem. 100% crash rate at character creation when trying to join as shown above. @forest crystal

I’m fairly sure this isn’t a connection issue our end as we both can play other multiplayer games perfectly fine and have done so whilst waiting on a fix for this.

Forgive me;
We are always asked the same questions and told it’s under investigation, so it’s understandable why myself and several others are getting frustrated.

I haven’t seen this issue addressed in the known bugs or the dev diary channels, adding to the frustration when we see cool features being worked on, when it seems like this game breaking crash looks like it’s been brushed aside and left on the back burner (to us at least)
