#Animal Festival doesn’t trigger?

Hi friends, I’ve just updated to build version 1.2.1238 on the PS5 and happened to be close to Animal Festival Day (Summer 12 of Year 1), but the festival didn’t trigger. I got the little festival brochure in the corner of my screen but nothing showed up in the town square area. Came back several times that day in case I’d forgotten what time it was on but no luck.
Does this only trigger if you already have a pet now?
(I let it go to the next day before I thought to restart and see if it worked on reload , I’m sorry, but I only started this file recently and can start a fresh one if needed)

I had this happen too, I wasn't sure if it was because I triggered a cutscene further in town to cause the orb to despawn but I'm not sure. I started the day over to verify that the festival orb is there, and it was, so I ran back to take care of my animals. I hovered by the orb after that to skip the activation for the heart events and I was able to trigger the festival then.

for completion's sake I started the day over again to see if I could get the stuff to bug like before, but the heart event in town didn't trigger this time like last time, so the orb is still there. I had been playing in-game for a week or two before this point, so idk if the game got confused about what day it was or hiccuped with the festival flag or what. but resetting the day seems to have smoothed it over, as far as I'm able to test.

I actually have another file that’s close to this point so I’m going to swap over to that and see if I can reproduce

Same happened to me but for me it was not avoidable because the cutscene (second diving suit from Ling) triggers when leaving the house in the morning.

Yes I had the same, orb to start was there, but was gone after first doing some diving (with a cutscene), even though the time for the festival to start hadn't ended yet

Thank you for your report. We've received a similar report in another Festival and are still gathering more info about this.

Could you please confirm if you played straight from the day before the Festival into the Festival Day without restarting or reloading your save when the issue happened? 😮

Got it! Do you happen to remember what activities you did the day before the Festival (Summer 11)?

Had you completed any offerings at the Lake Temple before that, or visited the Ocean?

Thank you so much for sharing all this info with us—it’s been really helpful for the team in figuring out what’s going on and what might trigger this bug. After looking into it, we found that the issue happens if you use up all your stamina the day before, right up until you’re about to pass out, and the screen turns grey.

The team is already working on a fix, so hang tight! 🙌

In the meantime, a temporary workaround is to avoid letting your stamina run out completely. If you’re already on the festival day and it doesn’t trigger, reloading the game should make the festival start properly.
