Reproduction Steps : I cleared some trash on my farm and the scrap dropped will not go into my inventory even though I have 3 open slots. I have left the area and come back as well, that fixed it last time.
Repro Rate : This is the second time.
Game Platform : Steam
Game Version: v1.1b-1231
Input Mode: I switch back and forth between keyboard and controller. this instance happened on controller, last time was keyboard.

I'm having this issue too. I initially had it before the latest hotfix with a sprinkler that I couldn't reasonably dislodge, though it did eventually come back to my inventory after I built another to put in its place.
Now it's happening whenever my inventory is full and can't pick something up off the ground. They just hang there. It happens in the farm and the mines.

yeah its happening to me all over. i have items scattered in 3 different places now. i built my shed on top of the lonely scrap sprite lol

I was hoping that I could grow a tree on the garbage on my farm. I have no idea how to make them register as pick-ups again.

Good news! Growing a tree under the garbage hides the garbage.
It didn't fix anything but it looks prettier 🙂
I think I noticed a possible cause! It's when two items are trying to enter my inventory at the same time when I only have one open slot. I pick up one and the other(s) freeze in place.
So perhaps whatever flag is flipped to stop them from entering the inventory... isn't being undone?
Or something to that effect; I don't know the innards of the game.
That hypothesis led me to try eating an item while standing over the affected objects, but that didn't "wake them up" like I hypothesized.
