It’s been about 2 1/2 weeks but before that it was crashing at the end of every two days then at the end of a day until it just stopped opening.

August 22nd I was able to play the game and get into it until the end of the day August 22nd, I went to go to bed in game and it crashed after saving which had been happening to me for about 2.5 weeks and then when I tried to get back into it like I normally did it wouldn’t let me in and now crashes everytime I try and load it. Mine is still not loading either but my grandson just started a game two weeks ago so he was still in spring of the first year and his game on my Xbox s works fine. I just checked it out this morning I opened up his game and it saves goes into the next day like it should and then I tried mine which I had restarted since the new update but I'm in year 3 and mine will not load at all

My wife is having this exact same issue, as of yesterday. Not game pass, we purchased and downloaded the game by itself. Backup loading is enabled but seemingly unavailable as they don't show up, and the game loads and crashes to the Xbox home screen, full crash with no option to quit the game from it options menu. Currently reinstalling and hoping the save carries over through the reinstall, but I guess even if it doesn't, no difference in the last analysis.

Save file had hundreds of hours, and this will be save number 2 she has lost with hundreds of hours into it (first one was the wipe where they all got lost, and she was assured it wouldn't happen again).

Great game and we are looking forward to co-op and making content when it releases but honestly, it's hard to dump the necessary time into a farm sim when you never really know if the stability issues will delete hundreds of hours of progress or not.

Update: Reinstalling the game did not fix the issue.

I am on xbox series s and it will crash before it can save at the end of the day some days and other days it saves fine. I have noticed that if I am doing main storyline quests it will always crash before the save. Examples: completing alters at lake temple, osmium crops and kelp essence at the oracle. Single day festivals cause this aswell. If I am just running around farming and catching I can usually complete the save at the end of the day.

It's normal for it to happen more in year 3 because that's when the crops get bigger and consequently the save too. But I've managed to lock my character in year 1.

Some more info. There was another thread suggesting using a backup save. Went back to summer 1 ok. Played the day (did less, didn’t plant as much, just did very basic things), ended the day, it saved, crashed and now I’m back where I was with summer 2 crashing during load. So unless I wanna just replay summer 1, it’s unplayable

My mom is having the exact same issues. She has been having trouble with it crashing each night, it saves for the most part but often doesn’t if she does a main quest thing. But now she’s on year 3 summer and can’t even log into her save. She has an Xbox S. I was weirdly able to log on to her save from my Xbox X, though I don’t know if it still would have crashed at the end of the day. She’s tried rebooting her Xbox, reinstalling the app, and a few other things but nothing has worked. We are both playing on game pass, but I so far seem to be having better luck with the crashes. I’m only on winter of year 2 though.

I haven't seen anyone reporting anything about PS5, this "crash" could probably be a corrupted save. You can access the saves in your settings, try to "rollback" the game.

There are some tips to make your new game take longer to start "crashing", but it's all a matter of time before your new game crashes too.

Yeah I’m on my third playthrough and it’s inevitable really. 1st one regularly crashes before saving, 2nd one the save file got deleted out of nowhere after it crashed, 3rd one won’t open. The problem seems to be the more data there is to save (progress, items, etc.) the more crashes you get. The advice generally seems to be to just do the absolute bare minimum, maybe you’ll go slow enough for it to be fixed by the time it could be a problem

Exactly, the problem is in the size of the save, it seems that on Xbox there is a limit, I have already restarted the game about 15 times, and I discovered that the plantations are a big part of the problem.

That just me reading the comments, yeah I can’t play the game myself it is annoying but I don’t need to be on it every second of the day. they are independent developers and bugs and issue will happen! They are doing their best with the resources they got I cannot give them Ill comments about how they run the game. They are doing amazing they need to keep up the good work. They’re game breaking bugs that shouldn’t have made it into a 1.0 version. It’s that simple. I reported that my game file got completely deleted and didn’t even get a response. I’ve been gaming for decades and honestly can’t remember dealing with a game with this many game breaking bugs, with developers who seem so nonchalant about it (I’m a software tester, and some seen some stuff)

These bugs and crashes have been in the game since launch and the company has ALWAYS responded with standard responses ctrl C ctrl V. The game's ratings on Xbox are horrible and apparently the company doesn't care about that. They should add a save feature at any time in the game, not just when we go to sleep. This would alleviate the absurd memory errors that this game has and at least we would stop putting stress into a game that is meant to relax. It would also be a decent minimum on the company's part because these errors and bugs only make people waste their time having to do the same day over and over again.

I put in many reports to help this game I have spoken to members of the team to fix issue that happen with me and they fixed them. If you’re a fan you wouldn’t bash them you would support them.
