Game Crashed upon talking to Chieftain at the Giants' Village

I just unlocked the Water Giant and decided to visit the village the morning after. I saw the Chieftain in the middle of the village, near the enchantment, and wanted to talk and suddenly the game crashed.

Here's what happened when it crashed! I was by the enchantment too, similar to the report I saw in the other thread I saw just now!

I have the same experience on pc, I just unlocked the giant village and after the grog cutscene I spoke to him and the game crashed. This is consistent each time I loaded the game, it didn't matter what order I proceeded (talk to chief first) or (enchant then talk to chief) game keeps crashing

Crash similar but not quite: I have unlocked 3 giants and went to the village to enchant tools. Before enchanting, I went to talk to the 3rd giant, then when I turned to the chief who was standing by, the game crashed.

Yea, same crash happened to my wife two times in a row; she just did not talk to Chieftain the third time and there was no crash. So i guess we just stay away from the chief till that gets resolved.

@late scarab got the same crash, while talking to village chieftain, but it started happening after unlocking the fire giant. I've restarted the game 4 times and the crash happened 4 times, all the same way.

Just happened to me too. My character was in a running animation when I clicked on him to talk to him. This is the second time it's happened and both times my character was in a running animation. I play on Steam on PC, I hope that helps!
