I'm not sure exactly, but how do you know if you're under the effects of the "Ground Insect Scent' item? There doesn't appear to be a buff anywhere that I can see.

Based on this description, the scent causes a bug to spawn overnight when used with a Ground Insect Trap. Not sure how it works without, sorry!

I've made a trap and set it out, it doesn't use scent pods. It just catches bugs randomly for me.

if you go up right next to the trap and “consume” the scent, it’ll use it on the trap (you’ll know bc the trap will be glowing). if you just consume it, it used to give a visible buff next to your energy bar but it doesn’t anymore, so I’m not sure if it’s bugged (ha) or if it’s only meant to be used on traps

Where do you normally stand to get it to work on the trap? I keep consuming the scent without triggering the trap

@snow furnace usually like, right next to it, and then left click near the trap. it should say the do you want to apply the scent to trap instead of the usual do you want to consume the scent line

yeah, you should have it selected the same way you would when consuming it, it just asks if you want to use it on the trap instead of yourself
